Malaysian coach Rajagopal to include new players for friendly against Sarawak

Pahang hotshot Mohd Azamuddin Akil is among the national team’s recruits for the friendly against Sarawak in Kuching on March 24.

The 26-year-old from Kuala Lipis has been in top form for Pahang, having scored seven goals in the Premier League.

National coach Datuk K. Rajagopal is preparing the team for the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Championship in November. 

He has called up 24 players and left out some of the regulars to allow them to focus on their FA Cup quarter-final commitments with their respective teams.

The other newcomers in the national team are Shahruddin Yakup, Alto Linus (Sabah); Mohd Afiq Azmi (KL); Venice Delphi (Armed Forces); Mohd Zulharis Mohd Nor and Mohd Fauzan Dzulkifli (PKNS).
