The Olympic squad under coach Ong Kim Swee must enter the field with the right mind set when facing English Premier League club, Chelsea, on Thursday.
Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Deputy President Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah said the friendly match against the 'Blues' would give the young players an opportunity to gain experience and exposure to prepare for their Asia Olympic Zone qualifier in September.
"I hope the boys can give their best and gain some experience. What is important is to have the right mind set and know their game," he told reporters after launching the Universal Fitness and Leisure Sdn Bhd's (UFL) new logo in conjunction with their 25th year anniversary at Wisma UFL near here Monday.
The Olympic squad will play Chelsea on Thursday at the 100,000 capacity National Stadium in Bukit Jalil at 8.45pm.
Tengku Abdullah also hopes the senior team that will face Singapore in their 2014 World Cup Qualifying match on July 23, would rectify their mistakes and weaknesses during their two friendly matches against Arsenal and Liverpool, before heading to the Republic.
"I'm sure coach Datuk K. Rajagopal will come out with the right strategy and I hope players will be injury free and hungry for a win. I hope they can come back with a good result," he said.
The first leg of the World Cup Qualifier between Malaysia and Singapore will be played at the Jalan Besar Stadium while the return leg is scheduled at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on July 28.
