Ong Kim Swee happy with the performance against Chelsea

Malaysian coach Ong Kim Swee said that the Malaysian selection was confident in the second half that they could come from behind an cause an upset against English Premier League team Chelsea in their friendly at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil Thursday night.

"Such was their attitude, and it was their strength," he told reporters after the match which the Malaysian team lost 0-1.

"They went to the pitch without feeling any pressure and with nine experienced players were able to hold Chelsea to a scoreless first half," Ong added.

Despite the defeat, the Malaysians could proud of themselves, especially since the goal was highly controversial, he said.

The Malaysians were adamant that the ball that Didier Drogba hit in the 78th minute did not cross the line, but assistant referee M.Sivanesan judged otherwise.

The 80,000 roared their approval whenever the Malaysian players surged forward.

They deserved the applause, Ong said. "They played without fear and were able to put into action what they learned during training."
