Malaysian coach K. Rajagobal is close to finalising his squad for Saturday's second round, first leg World Cup qualifying clash against Singapore.
Rajagobal fielded potential candidates in the friendly matches against Arsenal and Liverpool last week and will name his Singapore-bound 23-man squad either tomorrow or on Wednesday.
"I tested all my 30 players in both friendly matches. I have an idea of the players I want to use against Singapore," said Rajagobal after watching his team go down 6-3 to Liverpool in Saturday's friendly at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
"I kept changing my players throughout the friendly against Liverpool to keep them fresh. They enjoyed the match. But I can't take all of them to Singapore.
"It is always tough to drop players but I can only pick 23 for this mission."
On his players' performance on Saturday, the coach said they gave an improved performance.
"I've always had belief in this team. Fortunes will fluctuate for any team but right now the confidence and urgency are there which is what I wanted.
"My mind now is on Singapore," said Rajagobal, who had a word of praise for striker Safee Sali playing in his first match after an injury.
"I'm happy for Safee. He scored two good goals. At first, I was worried as I did not want him to injure himself again but thankfully he did well."
