Head of State Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Muhammad Salahuddin Abang Barieng yesterday feted the state football squad to a luncheon at the Astana for finishing second in the Malaysian Premier League.
His Excellency also presented medals and cash, amounting to RM100,000 from the Football Association of Malaysia, to the players.
The Head of State also took the opportunity to ‘inspire and motivate’ the players to perform better in the Malaysia Cup in September.
The Crocs will go on a statewide playing tour, starting July 14.
On that day, they are expected to play against Betong Selection before continuing their tour to Sibu, Kapit, Mukah, Bintulu and Miri.
The objective is to enable the Sarawak squad to reach out to the community and fans as well as scout for talents in the Divisions.
