Kelantan regain winning form while Felda held by Johor FC

Defending champions Kelantan came alive in the last eight minutes of their Malaysia Cup Group C match to bury Sarawak 4-0 at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Baru last night.

The Red Warriors tried all their best moves for 82 minutes but just could not break down the defensive wall put up by out-of-contention Sarawak, who are still winless and yet to score a goal in the competition.

Then, all of a sudden the goals started to flow with skipper Mohd Badri Mohd Radzi breaking the deadlock. National striker Norshahrul Idlan Talaha then made it 2-0 in the 87th minute. A minute later it was 3-0 with Danial Fadzly Abdullah on target.

Mohd Badri wrapped up a good night’s work with the fourth goal in the 90th minute.

For Kelantan, it was a crucial win after losing 2-0 to club side Felda United in an away match on Tuesday.

It was Kelantan’s third win in the group but they still remain second in the group with nine points.

In the other Group C match at the MBPJ Stadium in Kelana Jaya, high-flying Felda United were held to a 1-1 draw by Johor FC.

The Johor side stunned Felda United by grabbing the lead in the 38th minute through Johor FC defender Mohammad Izuan Jarudin.

Striker Mohd Azrul Ahmad ensured Felda United stay as leaders of the group with the equaliser. They now have 10 points and need one more point from their last two remaining matches to make the quarter-finals.
