Kelantan head coach Datuk M. Karathu, who led the side to a historic Super League title this year, has decided to call it a day.
Karathu, who has been involved in football as a player and coach for almost five decades, said that he planned to spend more time with his family.
“I wish to thank Kelantan FA president Tan Sri Annuar Musa, the players, officials and fans for giving me all the support needed as coach of Kelantan,” he said.
Kelantan, who won the Charity Shield and the Super League and finished as FA Cup runners-up, lost 5-3 on aggregate to Terengganu in the Malaysia Cup quarter-finals last Friday.
Meanwhile, Kelantan FA vice-president Rosmadi Ismail said they would respect Karathu’s decision.
“Karathu has made tremendous contribution to Kelantan and we are satisfied with what he had offered. We will discuss in detail once we receive a letter from the coach,” he said.
