Negeri Sembilan defender wants team to focus against Terengganu

Aidil Zafuan Abdul Radzak fears Malaysia Cup heartbreak for Negri Sembilan if they become too obsessed with shackling Manaf Mamat in tomorrow's final against Terengganu at the Shah Alam Stadium.
The centreback knows he is in for one of the toughest tests of his career against the star quality of Irfan Bakti Abu Salim's side.

Manaf's return to form with six goals so far in the Malaysia Cup is a huge threat but Aidil Zafuan will not focus all his energy on the injury-prone striker.

"Manaf is a great player and is really hard to stop," said Aidil Zafuan.

"But I would not underestimate the other players they have like Ashaari (Samsuddin), Abdul Hadi (Yahya) and Joseph (Kallang Tie), they're really good players who can produce good performances in vital games.

"It is not just about one player. It's about stopping Terengganu as a team."

Aidil Zafuan said Negri's defeat to Kelantan in last year's final will be a motivating factor for his team tomorrow.

"Obviously when you get to a final as big as that and lose, it's not a great feeling. To see the other team celebrate the biggest trophy you can have, it's not a great moment," he said.

Aidil Zafuan believes Terengganu will have a lot of possession during the game.

"But it is down to us to exploit their weaknesses which all teams have," said the 24-year-old.

Negri have no injury worries but it remains to be seen whether coach Azraai Khor Abdullah opts for a five-man midfield to counter Terengganu's threat.

"Azraai has some big calls to make because all his players are fit and it will be really hard to choose the first 11," added Aidil Zafuan.
