Supersub Ahmad Nordin Alias celebrated his 26th birthday on Wednesday with two wishes: to score in the final and help Terengganu lift the Malaysia Cup tomorrow.
Terengganu will be seeking to win the Cup for a second time since 2001 when they take on Negri Sembilan in the final at the Shah Alam Stadium.
Ahmad Nordin, who was hailed as a hero after coming on as a substitute and scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup final against Kelantan in June, hopes to repeat the feat against a Negri team who are in their third straight Malaysia Cup final.
“Scoring that winning goal (in the FA Cup) was a career high for me. Now I want another high by helping the team regain the Cup after10 years,” said Ahmad Nordin, adding that he also wanted to shine in his first-ever Malaysia Cup final.
The supersub said it didn’t matter whether he gets to start the match or not “as all I want is to contribute to the team”.
