The Kelantan FA team lost to the Persebaya Surabaya Club 2-3 in the second-leg of the Malaysia-Indonesia Unity Cup at the Gelora Stadium, Surabaya, East Java Wednesday night.
With the result, Persebaya emerged as champion with 4-3 aggregate. In the first leg match in Kota Baharu on Dec 23, both teams drew 1-1.
In the match last night, although Kelantan were in control of the game during the earlier part of the game, Persebaya managed to break the Kelantan defence in the 16th minute when striker Andik Vermansyah found the net.
Kelantan only managed to equalise two minutes into the second half through Norshahrul Idlan Talaha.
Persebaya scored another two goals through Feri Ariawan (65th min) and Octavio Dutra (72nd) while Kelantan managed to reduce the margin through Indra Putra Mahyuddin who scored shortly before the final whistle.
