The newly promoted Sarawak will start their 2012 Super League campaign against Kuala Lumpur at the State Stadium here on Jan 10.
“It is a good draw for us as we got to play on home soil first. We then travel to Sabah for a Borneo Derby on Jan 14,” said Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) secretary-general Abdullah Julaihi.
The Crocs next home match is a face-off with East-Coast giants Terengganu on Jan 17.
It will be a ‘home coming’ for Sarawak’s current most notable football export; Joseph Kallang Tie and Reesafique Alwi who powered Terengganu into one of the most respected outfit in the Malaysian football league.
A daunting task awaits the Crocs on Jan 21 when they travel to football powerhouse Selangor before taking reigning Malaysia Cup champions at home seven days later to cap-off a busy January schedule.
“The Crocs have two away matches in February, with a travel to Perak on Feb 7 and a Valentines’ Day clash with Johor at Larkin Stadium.
“The only home match in February is against Felda on Feb 11,” said Abdullah.
A match against highly fancied T-Team is slotted on March 3 before the Crocs entertain Singapore’s Young Lions at the State Stadium on the 17th.
An interesting clash is on the card when Sarawak face fellow newcomers PKNS away on March 31.
“A fiery-home tie against Super League champions Kelantan on Apr 7 is on the card followed by a double-whammy against Kedah at Alor Setar on Apr 14 and 17,” informed Abdullah.
For the new season, the Super League has 14 teams while the Premier League 12.
In the FA Cup, Sarawak was handed a tough draw in the 32-team competition as they face defending champions Kelantan as their opponent in the opener.
The first round of FA Cup is on Feb 8 while the second round is on March 10 with the quarter-finals and semi-finals feature return legs.
The final is to be played at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil scheduled on May 19.
