Seven national olympic players have been temporarily released to represent their respective teams for a Super League 2012 match next week.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said in a statement today an agreement on the matter had been arrived at between FAM and the National Olympic Squad chief coach, Ong Kim Swee.
Mohd Azrif Nasrulhaq, who represented Selangor PKNS, was allowed to return on Thursday (Jan 26) to join his team and must report back to Kim Swee at Blue Wave Hotel, Shah Alam on Saturday (Jan 28).
This is because only one match would be taking place, namely, the Selangor PKNS match against Sabah on Friday (Jan 27) at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium (MBPJ), Kelana Jaya while the other teams would be in action the next day.
Six other players: Khairul Fahmi Che Mat (Kelantan), K. Gurusamy (Selangor), Ahmad Shakir Ali (Negeri Sembilan), Ahmad Fakri Saarani (Felda United) and two Terengganu players Mohd Zubir Mohd Azmi and Mohammad Muslim Ahmad were allowed to go home on Friday and report back on Sunday.
The national Olympic squad would begin its group level third round Olympic qualifying campaign in the fourth match of the 2012 season by playing against Bahrain in an away match on Feb 5.
