T-Team looking to maintain the good form

Despite the absence of a foreign striker, T-Team are more bullish than ever, having recorded wins over Perak and Felda United in their last two matches.

Currently fifth in the Super League standings, the club side are one point adrift of fourth placed Singapore Lions XII.

Coach Yunus Alif feels that the players are on a rich vein of form and a top–three position before the next transfer window in April looks possible.

“I am proud of the way the players have responded by putting on good performances for two straight games. I believe they have the quality and discipline to maintain the good form,” said Yunus.

He said the players have performed beyond expectations despite being handicapped after no replacement could be found for Zambian striker Zachariah Simukonda, who was released earlier due to poor form.

“Our local players have showed they were unfazed even without a foreign striker. We only have Bosnian centreback Bojan Patrick in the team. And we are still doing well,” he said.

Yunus tested several foreign strikers but none of them met his expectations.

“We are looking at the next transfer window to find a suitable foreign striker. We are not worried with the possibility of not finding a replacement at all as our current crop of players are doing well.”

The club side thrashed Felda United 3-0 at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Malacca on Tuesday. And last Saturday, they stunned Perak 2-0.

Yunus’ side take on Johor next in the FA Cup first round at Pasir Gudang on Saturday.
