Three Malaysian league teams investigated for match-fixing allegations

Police are close to completing their match-fixing probe on three M-League teams.

Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) secretary-general Datuk Azzuddin Ahmad yesterday said police had interviewed players and officials of the concerned teams.

"The investigation started following a tip-off at the start of this season. The police have detected some elements of match-fixing."

On the collaboration between FAM and the Singapore FA  to fight match-fixing, Azzuddin said the joint venture will start soon.

"I met them and discussed about a possible link-up. But we need to iron out details before we can establish something positive," he said,  adding that the association was also looking at working with their counterparts in Thailand and Indonesia.
