Chelsea stars to arrive three days before match

SUBANG: English Premier League giants Chelsea will be arriving three days ahead of their match against the national football team on July 21.

The team planned to have a training camp before facing Malaysia’s Harimau Muda at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, said ProEvents chief executive officer Julian Kam.
“Chelsea youth coaches will conduct courses for young aspiring players in collaboration with the Football Association of Malaysia.
“There will even be an open practice session on July 21 for the fans to watch the team practise,” said Julian.
He said tickets sales had been positive with over 30,000 sold.

Some 55,000 tickets were sold for Chelsea’s previous match during the Masters Football Malaysia Cup 2008 at the Shah Alam Stadium.
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) managing director and CEO Tengku Datuk Seri Azmil Zahruddin said there would be other activities planned with the Chelsea team during their visit.
“We will announce these activities soon, so fans should look out for a chance to watch them live in action,” said Azmil after witnessing the charter agreement signing between MAS and ProEvents here on Wednesday.

As part of the air charter MAS will fly Chelsea to the Asian cities covered by the team’s Asian Tour 2011, including Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Hong Kong.
Azmil said MASholidays had also developed packages for fans in the region to see Chelsea play in Kuala Lumpur.
