The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has appealed to the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) for an additional 1,500 tickets for Malaysian supporters to watch the second round match of the 2014 World Cup Asian Zone Qualifier in the island republic on July 23.
FAM secretary-general Datuk Azzuddin Ahmad said he had sent the appeal letter to FAS this morning.
The Malaysian national squad under coach Datuk K.Rajagobal will play against Singapore at the Jalan Besar Stadium in the island republic while the return match will be held at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on July 28.
"FAM hopes FAS will allocate additional tickets for our supporters for the match in Singapore," Azzuddin told reporters, here, today.
FAS had earlier said that it would limit the sale of tickets to 500 for Malaysian supporters.
The Jalan Besar Stadium has the capacity for only 6,000 spectators.
"FAM, on the other hand, will not limit the sale of tickets to Singapore supporters to watch the return match," said Azzuddin.
