Kuala Lumpur gets new sponsors

Super League team Kuala Lumpur received a shot in the arm as Permanis Sdn Bhd will sponsor Revive beverages for the city team.
The deal was sealed between Permanis chief executive officer (CEO) Erwin Selvarajah, and Kuala Lumpur FA deputy president Datuk Astaman Abdul Aziz in a simple ceremony at the KLFA office recently.

"We are indeed proud to be associated with a young, but rich with achievement, soccer team like KL," said Erwin.

KL have been competing in the domestic scene for the last 32 years. They have bagged the Malaysia Cup for three consecutive years (1987-1989), won the League Cup in 1986 and 1988, the FA Cup in 1993, 1994 and 1999 and the Charity Shield in 1988, 1995 and 2000.

The association was founded as the Federal Territory Football Association in 1974 and competed in the local football tournaments in 1979 before being renamed Kuala Lumpur FA in 1986.

"Having won every trophy at stake in their short history in the competition is indeed a proud record.

"KLFA have also always been known for their development programmes and were once known as the factory for Malaysian soccer talent. Revive is proud to be a part of grassroots development," added Erwin.

Astaman, was overwhelmed by the support.

"We are indeed grateful to Permanis Sdn Bhd for supporting us and we are confident that we can grow together," said Astaman.
