Malaysian Tigers ready to tame Singapore Lions

Malaysian coach Datuk K. Rajagobal  claimed that his boys were physically and mentally prepared to face Singapore in the second leg of the 2014 World Cup Asian Zone Qualifier Thursday.

The Malayan 'Tigers' or Harimau Malaya who lost 3-5 to the Singapore 'Lions' at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore on Saturday, will be hoping to make amends by overturning the deficit and achieve an unprecedented feat of qualifying for the next stage.

"We must go all out an get an early goal to have any chance of winning the match and every player is aware of the task ahead," he told reporters during a joint press conference with Singapore coach Radojko Avramovic at Wisma FAM here.

Rajagobal said he had already directed his players to focus on winning by reducing the margin of error.

"I do not think our players will have a problem when playing against a packed stadium because they have experienced such occasions before," he said.

Rajagobal said he has not decided on who would be wearing the arm-band for the match, since skipper Safiq Rahim has been ruled out of the match due to suspension.

Striker Safee Sali and hard-tackling defender Aidil Zafuan Abd Radzak are the leading candidates to be given the skipper's arm-band.

Meanwhile, Avramovic said his team had prepared well to win the match despite playing in front of an expected 85,000 Malaysian fans.

"We have no fear and my team is ready to win this match," he said.

In Thursday's match, Malaysia need to win 2-0, to overcome Singapore on the away goals rule and take a step closer towards qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.
