A full house attendance is expected for the 2014 World Cup Asian Zone Qualifier between Malaysia and Singapore since all 85,000 tickets have been snapped up.
Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the 85,000 tickets allocated for the second leg match at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil has been sold out.
The unexpected response from the fans showed the overwhelming support for the Harimau Malaya team, he said.
"By this afternoon all 85,000 tickets have been sold because it is a very important match for us," he told Bernama when met on the KLIA Transit train to KL Sentral together with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and other cabinet members during the 'fly the Jalur Gemilang flag' campaign.
Malaysia who lost 3-5 in the first leg at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore on Saturday, will be hoping to avenge that defeat and advance to the next stage of the World Cup qualifier.
Malaysia has never qualified for the final round of the World Cup.
Meanwhile, Cheras Police Chief ACP Mohan Singh Tara Singh said police would ensure that enough police personnel are deployed to manage traffic and security during the match.
"We will station traffic policemen from noon tomorrow to ensure traffic flow remains smooth. We will also screen fans entering the stadium for banned items like fire crackers or sharp objects," he said.
