Malaysian coach K. Rajagobal is a diehard Manchester United fan, as are most of his players. And as United fans, all they are thinking about is to make Sir Alex Ferguson proud by getting the better of Arsene Wenger and his Arsenal side today. Rajagobal holds an early advantage as Wenger has not done his research on the national football team.
Wenger said: "No, I haven't seen Malaysia. I think I need to speak with the locals here about them."
As for Rajagobal, he knows the Arsenal team thoroughly in terms of tactics and game style.
"I want to see where we can take advantage. We managed to give (Manchester) United a scare in 2009 when most of their players were suffering from jet-lag. I think we can do it again," said Rajagobal yesterday.
"Everyone in my team is excited over the prospect of playing Arsenal. Most of them are young and they hope to learn something from this match."
Rajagobal promised entertaining football from his players.
"I will instruct my players to play offensive. We cannot hold back against a team like Arsenal as they have players who can breach the best defences in the world," he said.
The coach is using this match to gauge his 26-man squad ahead of their World Cup Qualifying first leg match against Singapore on July 23.
"It gives me the opportunity to assess my players against one of the best clubs in the world.
"I need to see them in action before I finalise the World Cup squad," he said.
