Kelantan, Felda United and Kuala Lumpur win again

Defending champions Kelantan fought back from a goal down to edge Johor FC 2-1 in a Group C Malaysia Cup match at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Baru yesterday.

Supersub Ramzul Zahini Adenan saved the blushes for the east coast side when he scored a late winner in the 88th minute.

Earlier, former international Eddie Helmi Abdul Manan gave the visitors an early goal in the 11th minute before an own goal by Johor FC defender Mohd Hamzani Omar in the 26th minute gave Kelantan a lifeline.

It was the Red Warriors’ second straight win after their 2-0 triumph over Sarawak in Kuching on Tuesday.

Felda United also chalked up their second win in the group after edging Sarawak 1-0 at the MBPJ Stadium in Kelana Jaya, courtesy of a Nizam Abu Bakar goal in the 71st minute.

Meanwhile, surprise package Kuala Lumpur continued to make heads turn when they notched their second win by defeating T-Team 2-1 in a Group D match at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium.

Attacking midfielder Yong Kuong Yong was the toast for the City side when he scored a brace in the 28th and 49th minutes.

Norfazly Alias replied for the visitors in the 44th minute.

Kuala Lumpur, who defeated Police 3-0 in the opening match on Tuesday, top the group with six points.

In another Group D match, Mohd Fadli Saari scored in the 47th and 59th minutes to steer Selangor to a 2-0 win over Police at the Shah Alam Stadium.

The win was a huge relief for coach K. Devan after their opening defeat to T-Team (0-1) in Kuala Terengganu on Tuesday.

In Group A, Sabah stunned 10-man Kedah 2-1 at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu.

Zainizam Marjan put the Rhinos ahead in the 27th minute before K. Thanaraj doubled their lead in the 77th minute. The Canaries reduced the deficit with a last minute goal by Azmi Muslim.

Kedah were reduced to 10 men when Baddrol Bakhtiar was sent off in the 63rd minute.
In another Group A match, Perak defeated Johor 2-1 at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh.
