Yunus Alif will stay on as T-Team coach – but three star players are leaving.
Manager Rozi Mamat said Indra Putra Mahyuddin, Norfarhan Moh-amad and Haris Safwan had handed in requests to leave after receiving offers from other teams.
“We respect their requests … they will not be with us next season,” Rozi told reporters after the team meeting here yesterday.
Rozi also announced that six players – Ismail A. Rahman, Sobri Sulong, Amza Junaidi, Sazlan Alias, Kamal Rodiajat Mat Ali and Rosli Muda – would be released.
Rosi said T-Team were also eyeing two foreign players.
“We are looking at players from Uzbekistan, Africa and South America.
“We will make a final decision soon,” he said.
He also quashed speculation that the team would be dissolved next season.
“Such talk is nonsense as the team did very well … reaching the Malaysia Cup semi-finals. We are gunning for the final next season,” he declared.
Coach Yunus, however, described the trio’s exit as a big blow “but we will find replacements”.
“I wish them well … this team will still survive,” he said.
As for the two foreign players, Yunus said he was looking for a defender and a striker.
Besides reaching the Malaysia Cup last four, T-Team finished ninth in the 14-team Super League but crashed out in the opening round of the FA Cup this year.
