FAM get reward for team winning gold in SEA Games

A total of 19 athletes received the OCM Athletes of the Games Award for their performances at the recent Indonesia SEA Games.

The selection criteria was based on the most outstanding athlete or athletes of each of the 15 sports and disciplines that won gold medals at the SEA Games in Jakarta and Palembang. The recipients comprised 11 individual athletes, two pairs and one quartet.

Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Berhad also presented the Football Association of Malaysia RM5,000 in recognition of the national football team’s superb effort in retaining the SEA Games gold medal in Jakarta.

Olympic Council of Malaysia president Tunku Tan Sri Imran Tuanku Jaafar said: “The Outstanding Games Award in 2010, worth RM5,000 each, went to high achievers at the Guang-zhou Asian Games.

“The Outstanding Athletes of the Games Award for 2012 will be presented to those who shine at the London Olympics.”
