Nidzam replaces suspended Wan Jamak as Kedah coach

The duties of Kedah head coach, Wan Jamak Wan Hasan, who was suspended for seven matches, will be taken over by President''s Cup head coach, Mohd Nidzam Adzha Yusof.

Wan Jamak was suspended as he was alleged to have criticised the standard of refreeing when he saw his team tied to a 1-1 draw against Perak in the final match of Group A on Sept 28.
Kedah Football Association (KFA) honorary secretary Datuk Dr Hamdan Mohamed Khalib said the issue had posed a problem to the Kedah football management in facing the next season and had to adopt a system to ensure that the team''s preparations were not affected.

"During his suspension, Wan Jamak''s duties would be taken over by Mohd Nidzam. I hope he can assist the Kedah team during the period," he told reporters after introducing the new Kedah players at Sri Mentaloon, here today.

He said that during Wan Jamak''s suspension, Mohd Nidzam would guide both teams, namely the main squad and the President''s Cup squad.

Besides Wan Jamak, assistant coach Radzi Mat Din and the goalkeeper''s coach,
Ahmad Sobri Ismail were also suspended for four matches.
