Kedah signs 9 new players for next season

Two imports from Brazil are among the new players selected to join the Canaries in the 2012 Malaysian Football League.

Kedah Football Association (KFA) honorary secretary Datuk Dr Hamdan Mohamed Khalib said the two players were Danilo Rafael Dos Santos Vivaldo, a defender who had previously played for the Brothers Union FC in Bangladesh and Daniel Soares Neves or Baroni who had played for Cruzeiro E. Clube in Brazil.

Both would be playing in midfield.

"Both players will play for the Canaries for one year with conditions," he told reporters after a gathering to introduce new players at the Sri Mentaloon, here today.

Also present were Kedah chief coach, Wan Jamak Wan Hassan and President''s Cup chief coach, Mohd Nidzam Adzha Yusof.

Seven new players were also introduced at the gathering, namely two former Perlis players, Azmizi Azmi and Mohd. Sany Mat Isa, besides Mohd. Bashahrul Abu Bakar who would be playing in defence.

"Three other new faces who will be playing in midfield are See Kok Luen (Kuala Lumpur), Mohd. Kamal Azira Abdul Manah (Universiti Sains Malaysia) and Ahmad Basri Abdul Wahid besides former Penang striker, Abdul Latiff Suhaimi," said Hamdan.

The Canaries retained their prized player, Baddrol Bakhtiar who led theHarimau Muda to win the SEA Games football recently, besides strikers Mohd.

Khyril Muhymeen Zambri, Mohd. Faizal Abu Bakar, Amar Rohidan and V.Thirumurugan.

The other players are defenders, Mohd. Sabree Mat Abu, Mohd. Fauzie Nan and Khairul Helmi Johari as well as three goalkeepers, Mohd. Helmi Eliza Elias, Abdul Hadi Abdul Hamid and Mohamad Muhaimin Mohamad.
