PKNS FC have been allocated a whopping RM7 million budget by Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS) to spearhead its Super League campaign next year.
PKNS general manager Othman Omar who is also the patron of the club wants PKNS FC to use the ‘big’ allocation wisely in its quest for success.
Speaking to reporters after witnessing PKNS FC players signing their contracts of service for the new season, Othman also urged the team management to source for additional funds from other prospective sponsors.
“To become a renown club we cannot just depend on grants given by PKNS but rather work hard to source for funds from other sponsors to develop football, especially PKNS FC,” he said.
Othman said the success of PKNS FC to win the 2011 Premier League title and gain automatic promotion to the Super League would certainly open the eyes of prospective sponsors to come forward.
He also urged the team management to find ways to attract fans to the stadium by increasing their ticket sales through quality performances.
