T-TeamT-TEAM'S search for their second foreign signing is almost over now that they have found Bojan Petric.
The Bosnian central defender has more than impressed coach Yunus Alif, who said yesterday that he could not wait for the former Borak Banja Luka player to pass his medical.
Yunus said the 26-year-old Petric, who used to play in the Bosnia-Herzegovina Premija Liga, has all the qualities to be T-Team's star defender.
"At 1.9 metres, he will be the tallest player in the team if not in the whole Super League and we will definitely benefit from his experience of playing in the Champions League qualifying round earlier this year," said Yunus.
"Bojan was part of the team who crashed out to Israel's Maccabi Haifa. We are delighted to have him here with us."
The coach said T-Team will be a lot stronger for the new season, which kicks off on Jan 10, with Petric at the back with the team's other foreign signing Zacharia Simukonda from Zambia, up front.
"The former Lusaka Red Arrows FC striker proved he is a natural goal-scorer when he netted the only goal in T-Team's win over Terengganu in a friendly last week.
"We are hoping for Zacharia to form a lethal partnership with (former Selangor striker) Fadzli Shaari, who is one of a dozen players to have joined us for the new season," added the coach.
The other signings are goalkeeper Iqbal Suhaimi from Selangor, right-back Azmizi Azmi, striker Faiz Subri and left-back Wan Khairul Wan Kamaruddin from Perlis, and striker Wan Mohd Alif Wan Jasmi, defender Hassan Basri and midfielder Zharif Husna from Terengganu.
