Kelantan to decide if Khairul Fahmi can join Olympic squad

Kelantan coach Peter James Butler said today he will leave it to the Kelantan FA to decide on whether to allow national goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat to join the national Olympic squad.

The matter can only be answered by Kelantan FA president Tan Sri Annuar Musa, he said, adding that he could understand if Khairul Fahmi, or affectionately known as Apek, is called to the national squad.

"If he has to join the (national) team, I understand," he said when met a training session at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, here.

He added however that Khairul Fahmi is also needed by the state team.

Khairul Fahmi also said that it would be up to the Kelantan FA to decide on the matter.

"I was supposed to attend the training with the Olympic squad yesterday. I would have to ask Kelantan FA about this," he said.
