Johor FC hoping Brazilian striker Arthuro can play against Sarawak

The delay in getting Brazilian striker Arthuro Henrique Bernhardt's International Transfer Certificate (ITC) is a cause for concern for Johor FC as they seek their first home win in the Super League against Sarawak tonight.

Johor FC have managed just one point in Pasir Gudang, from a 1-1 draw with  Felda United after defeats to Negri Sembilan (2-0) and Perak (1-0).

Johor FC,  however, have won three of their four away matches -- PKNS FC (2-1), Kedah (3-1) and Kuala Lumpur (2-0). Their only away loss was to  Kelantan (2-1).

With their goal shy local strikers  producing another woeful performance in their 2-0 win  over  Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, team manager Wan Nizam Wan Omar is keeping his fingers crossed Bernhardt's ITC will arrive in time for the match against Sarawak, who beat Felda 2-1 in their last match.

Sarawak's new signing Croatian Vedran Muratovic, who replaced the injured Cameroonian Kalle Sonne, has been a hit with the Crocs, scoring a goal each in the two matches he has played so far.

"We need a striker like Arthuro upfront. He has been impressive and the coach (K. Devan) believes the Brazilian can solve our problems. We managed only two against KL but it should have been half a dozen," said Wan Nizam.

They already have the services of another Brazilian -- defender Fernando Augosto Ferreira who has featured  in their last two matches.

"Our poor scoring record has caused the team dearly. We should have won against Negri, Perak and Felda United. Arthuro is a proven striker and I am confident that he will be able to turn the tide for us."

Devan, while hoping for Arthuro's ITC to arrive in time,   welcomes back Azi Shahril Azmi from a one match suspension while Fauzi Saari will undergo a late fitness test for an ankle injury.
