Negeri Sembilan still undecided over Brazilian midfielder Fernando

Negeri Sembilan coach Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah said he needed a little time to assess the performance of his new Brazilian import, Fernando Augusto de Abreu Ferreira, especially in terms of fitness.

Based on his observation of the 1.85m high midfielder, Mohd Azraai said the Brazilian had the qualities of a good defensive midfield player and able to blend well with the other players.

"If everything goes well, we hope to sign him before the match against T-Team on Feb 8. He will replace his fellow countryman Marquem Goncalves Ferreira who failed to meet the criteria set by the Football Association of Malaysia(FAM)," he said here Tuesday.

He said the 27 year-old player comes with a very good reputation since he had played in the La Liga with Atletico Madrid and Racing Santander plus a stint as a junior with FC Porto.

Mohd Azraai said the player who also has an Italian citizenship has played in Europe for eight years with teams like Racing Santander, Atletico Madrid and the last club he had played for was IFK Mariehamn from Finland.

Negeri Sembilan also has another import in striker Jean Emmanuel Effa Owona from Cameroon.
