Perak FA reluctant to take over management of Perak Stadium

The  Perak Football Association (Perak FA) said they were not ready yet to fully take over the management of the Perak Stadium from Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh due to the high cost of maintenance.

Perak FA President Datuk Zainol Padzi Paharuddin said the association needed time to form a smart partnership with the council which is committed towards its upkeep and maintenance.

"The time has not come for Perak FA to take over the entire management because the cost of maintenance is very high and we do not have the financial capacity to do so now.

"Revenue from ticket sales alone is not enough to cover the cost of maintenance," he told reporters here today when commenting on a statement by Kubu Gajah State Assemblyman Datuk Seri Raja Ahmad Zainuddin Raja Omar's proposal for the Perak FA to take over the management of the stadium, sports complex and other sports facilities in the state.

Raja Ahmad Zainuddin was quoted by an online portal 'Perak Today' as saying sports associations have the capability to monitor the maintenance of sports facilities more effectively.

Zainol said right now, the association was focused on its financial management and ways to settle outstanding debts.
