Selangor have dropped Young Tigers B captain D. Saarvindran to sign goalkeeper G. Jeevananthan on loan from Premier League side USM FC ahead of the Malaysia Cup, which starts next month.
The two-time Super League champions had to drop Saarvindran as according to Malaysia Cup rules, each team can only sign three new players for the competition.
Jeevananthan was preferred over Saarvindran as Selangor's third-choice keeper Mohd Fairul Shahrullai has been ruled out of the Malaysia Cup.

Selangor also secured the signatures of two Young Tigers A reserve players - Haziq Zikri Elias (striker) and Muhd Nazri Ahmad (defender).
But their decision to drop Saarvindran is quite dumbfounding as he had played an instrumental role for Tigers B in the Premier League. Haziq and Muhd Nazri, a rightback, hardly played for Tigers A in the Super League this season.
However, Saarvindran is not harping on Selangor's decision to drop him as Felda United and PKNS are already looking at signing on the 19-year-old attacking midfielder. He is likely to join Felda for the Malaysia Cup.
