Malaysian Olympic squad coach Ong Kim Swee today announced the names of 21 players who will spearhead the country's mission to 'conquer' Japan during their first leg of the third round Olympic Qualifier on Sept 21 in Fukuoka, Japan.
"The players were selected based on their performances during centralised training since Sept 1 at Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya and two recent friendly matches," he said.
He added that five players - Muhammad Zamir Selamat, Nazirul Naim Che Hashim, Mohd Ferris Daniel Mat Nasir, Gary Steven Robbat, Mohd Azrif Nasrulhaq - were dropped for various reasons.
The team that lost 0-1 to the Oman Olympic squad Thursday night leaves to Japan tomorrow morning and will train in Japan from Sept 16 to 18, before facing the home team as scheduled.

The lost will not hamper our preparations," he told reporters after the match.
