Sabah looking for glory after signing Australian players

Sabah will be hoping for a change in fortune after signing two Australian players to beef up their M-League campaign when the new season kicks off next week.

Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman who is also the Sabah FA President said the signing of the duo from Australia has raised the expectation of the local fans.

"This year should see a better performance after the signing of the two import players. I hope the two players will blend with the team and assist Sabah to finish among the top five teams in the league," he said here today after meeting the players and officials.

Sabah has signed Brendan Gan and Michael Baird who played their football in Australia.

Apart from the duo, Sabah had also roped Shahrudin Yakup from Sime Darby FC and welcomed back Bobby Gonzales who played for Sarawak, Ronny Harun (Terengganu) and Irwan Jamil who was dropped due to injury last year.

Sabah open their M-League campaign against Felda United at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka on Monday before hosting Sarawak at the Likas Stadium on Jan 14.
