The tables have been turned as the Johor Football Association (JFA) lodged a police report alleging that Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) coach Cesar Jimenez was assaulted by a fitness coach and a striker from Terengganu's T-Team.
In the report lodged at the Johor Baru Sentral police station on Tuesday, Jimenez alleged that he was assaulted by T-Team striker Evaldo Goncalves and fitness coach Stefano Impagliazzo.
He was accompanied by Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu, a lawyer appointed by JFA , their honorary secretary Mohd Fahmy Yahya and several officials.
“We are here to accompany him (Jimenez) to lodge the report detailing that he was assaulted by the T-Team player wearing jersey No. 16 and their fitness coach," Baljit said.
According to him, Jimenez claims that he was the victim yet the facts had been twisted by T-Team and their officials.
The two teams were in the Larkin Stadium tunnel, trooping out at half-time during their FA Cup second-round clash on Saturday, with JDT leading 2-1, when the incident happened. Play was stopped when T-Team refused to come out in the second half.
”In the incident, his (Jimenez) T-shirt collar was pulled by the fitness coach (Impagliazzo) and he was also verbally abused by Impagliazzo," said Baljit.
He said the report was made under Section 323 of the Penal Code for assault and Section 506 of Criminal Code for criminal intimidation.
Similarly, Baljit said that the JFA would not hesitate to take legal action against those who were found to be spreading rumours or lies in the incident.
“We are giving our full co-operation to the police and the Football Association of Malaysia to investigate the case," he added.
Johor Baru South OCPD ACP Sulaiman Salleh confirmed the report.
On Sunday, T-Team striker Goncalves, defender Fabio Flor de Azevado, Impagliazzo and the club’s chief operating officer Mohd Syahrizan Mohd Zain lodged reports at the Kuala Terengganu district police headquarters pertaining to the incident.
The Brazilian striker Goncalves alleged that he was punched in the nose by a Johor FA top official while Impagliazzo was kicked in the groin by the official’s escort in the Larkin Stadium tunnel here.

T-Team makes police reports over assault of players
T-Team have lodged police reports alleging that a top Johor FA official had assaulted two of their players and a fitness coach.
Striker Evaldo Goncalves, defender Fabio Flor de Azevado, fitness coach Stefano Impagliazzo and the club’s chief operating officer Mohd Syahrizan Mohd Zain lodged the reports at the Kuala Terengganu district police headquarters at 11pm on Sunday.
It is learnt that the reports were lodged to ensure “the safety of T-Team’s players” and named the “president of the Johor FA” as the perpetrator.
The reports state that Brazilian striker Goncalves was punched in the nose by the top official while Impagliazzo was kicked in the groin by the official’s escort in the Larkin Stadium tunnel when the two teams were trooping out at half-time during their FA Cup second round clash on Saturday. JDT were leading 2-1 at that time.

T-Team coach Azraai Khor Abdullah expressed hope that the authorities would act on the incident immediately.
“There’s nothing more we can do ... we’ll leave it to the authorities to handle it. For now, I want my players to put the incident behind them and focus on their football.
“We have a big match against Armed Forces this Saturday and I want the players to be in the right state of mind,” said Azraai, adding that team morale had not been too affected by the incident.
As for the victims, Azraai said that he understood the concern over their safety in the country.
“We cannot really stop them if they feel unsafe here. But they are good professionals and I think they will get over it,” said Azraai.

Pahang upsets Singapore while T-Team abandons match in FA Cup

It is learnt that the visiting team decided not to take to the field in the second-half, with JDT leading 2-1, as they feared for their safety.
It is also learnt that a scuffle had broken out during the break as the players and officials headed for the tunnel. Television footage also showed JDT striker Pablo Aimar involved in a heated argument with a T-Team coaching staff.
Match commissioner Zainal Mukri said he would refer the incident to the FAM competitions committee.
He also confirmed that a shouting match took place between JDT coach Cesar Jimenez and a T-Team fitness coach.
“I have yet to receive the reasons for T-Team’s decision in not coming out for the second half,” he said.
“The match will be postponed and I will also be sending the report to the FAM for further action."
JDT had taken a 2-0 lead through Argentine forward Luciano Figueroa in the 15th and 20th minutes before T-Team pulled a goal back through skipper Mohd Marzuki Yusof in the 26th minute off a freekick.
Meanwhile, Pahang created an upset of sorts when they ended Lions XII’s unbeaten home record at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday.
The Singaporeans, who have been unbeaten at home since July 2012, lost 2-1 to the Elephants in the second round of the FA Cup.
Midfielder Hafiz Kamal scored from a freekick in the 50th minute before his midfield partner Azidan Sarudin struck five minutes later to end the Lions’ 22-match unbeaten home run.
Defender Safuwan Baharudin reduced the deficit off a freekick in the 85th minute but it wasn’t enough for Fandi Ahmad’s men to mount a comeback.
The Lions’ last home defeat was a 1-0 setback to Johor FC in a Super League match in July 14, 2012.
Last season, the team, under the guidance of V. Sundramoorthy, lifted the Super League crown in style by remaining undefeated at home – recording 10 wins and a draw at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

Nigerian striker Onyekachi Nowha scores two goals as Kelantan win in Super League
Under-fire striker Onyekachi Nowha answered his critics with a brace in Kelantan 5-1 thrashing of Felda United in Kota Baru yesterday as the East Coast side maintained their two-point lead at the top of the Super League.
The 29-year-old Nigerian was on target in the third and 45th minute before Norfarhan Mohd (65th), Indra Putra Mahayuddin (69th) and Badri Radzi (84th) completed the rout. Felda replied through Azrul Ahmad in the fourth minute.
At the Jalan Besar Stadium, Shahdan Sulaiman's penalty four minutes from time earned Singapore's LionsXII a 2-1 victory over T-Team to stay in second place with 24 points.
Shahdan cooly slotted home from the spot past T-Team goalkeeper Mohd Iqbal Suhaimi, who was brilliant throughout the match, after teammate Agu Casmir was fouled in the box.
Lions, however, must thank their lucky stars for the victory as they almost blew it following Shahril Ishak's penalty miss in the 60th minute.
The homesters turned on the heat by scoring first through Shahril in the 51st minute before Zairo Anuar Zalani levelled proceedings, after a brilliant inter-change with Badrul Hisani Abdul Rahman, three minutes later.

Sime Darby continues giant–killing feats while Terengganu progress in FA Cup
Sime Darby FC continued their giant–killing ways in the FA Cup competition to enter the semi-finals last night.
The club side defeated Johor FC 2-1 in the quarter-final second leg at the Pasir Gudang Stadium to progress 5-3 on aggregate.
Liberian international Patrick Wleh was the toast of the Premier League side after scoring a brace in their return-leg. Ismail Zakaria’s team had won the first-leg 3-2 at the Selayang Stadium on Friday.
Sime Darby FC proved that their are no pushovers in the competition after having earlier knocked out Super League side Sabah and USM FC by similar 2-0 margins in the first and second rounds respectively.
Last night, Wleh was was a constant menace to the Johor FC defenders. The Liberian gave goalkeeper Mohd Anis Faron no chance with two long range attempts in the third and 20th minutes.
Johor FC reduced the deficit through an Ahmad Fauzi Shaari penalty 13 minutes from the end.
Johor FC coach K. Devan clearly missed the service of top scorer Arthuro Bernhardt, who has found the net nine times in seven matches.
The Brazilian had to sit out a one-match suspension.
Sime Darby will play defending champions Terengganu in the two-legged semi-finals on Apr 21 and May 1.

Brazilian striker Arthur Henrique in red hot form for Johor FC
Seven goals in five matches have made Brazilian Arthur Henrique the envy of many as Super League outfit Johor FC battle Premier League side Sime Darby in a late afternoon first-leg FA Cup quarter-final match at the Selayang Stadium tomorrow.
The lanky Henrique, 28, scored four of the seven goals in the FA Cup matches -- against Negri Sembilan in the first round and five-time champions Selangor in the second round - winning 2-1 and 5-4 in sudden death penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in extra-time respectively.
Henrique has scored in every match for Johor FC since he made his debut against Sarawak in a Super League match in Pasir Gudang on Feb 14, although he was on the losing side with the East Malaysians scoring a come-from-behind 2-1 win in Pasir Gudang.
The Brazilian, who stands at 1.90m, however, has found his niche in the FA Cup -- scoring a brace against Negri in the first round. Against Selangor, he set up one and scored one as Johor FC fought back from 2-0 down despite playing with 10 men after 17 minutes. He also netted in the shootout.
Henrique scored the fastest goal in the Super League this season when he found the net after only 35 seconds against T-Team in Johor FC's 3-1 defeat at home last Saturday.

Kelantan tightened their grip at the top of the Super League table with a 2-0 win over Perak at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh, Saturday night.
The win enabled Kelantan under the tutelage of Bojan Hodak to collect 23 points from 10 matches.

Selangor wastes two goal lead to crash out to Johor FC in FA Cup
Johor FC staged an amazing recovery from two goals down and playing with 10 men for over 100 minutes to knock Selangor out of the FA Cup through a penalty shootout in a dramatic second round tie in Pasir Gudang yesterday.
After Azi Shahril Azmi was dismissed when booked a second time with barely 17 minutes gone, Azidan Sarudin scored on the half-hour mark as he finished off a cross from Fitri Shazwan Raduan to put Selangor ahead.
Selangor were 2-0 up in the 56th minute when Solilhin Kanasian's corner came back off the post for Asraruddin Putra Omar to knock in before Johor FC stunned the visitors when first Arthuro Bernhardt set up Fauzi Shaari to score a minute later before the Brazilian grabbed the equaliser in the 68th minute to force extra-time.

Johor FC knocked out five-time champions Selangor in the second round of the FA Cup after winning a dramatic sudden-death penalty shootout 5-4 at the Pasir Gudang Stadium last night.
The Red Giants only have themselves to blame after they squandered a 2-0 lead to allow the club side, who were reduced to 10-man, to bounce back. Former international Azi Shahril Azmi was sent off after only 17 minutes for a reckless tackle on Selangor’s Azidan Saruddin.
The match ended 2-2 in regulation time and both sides failed to break the deadlock in extra-time.
Goalkeeper Mohd Anis Faron Ahmad was the toast of Johor FC when he blocked K. Solihin’s spot-kick during the sudden-death shoot-out.
Mohd Zamri Chin converted the winning penalty for Johor FC, who face Premier League side Sime Darby FC in the quarter-finals.
Selangor went ahead through goals from Azidan Saruddin (30th) and Mohd Asraruddin Putra (56th).
Fauzi Shaari (59th) and Arthuro Bernhardt (66th) replied for Johor FC.
In the shoot-out Mohd Reduan M’aon and Mohd Amirulhadi Zainal missed for Johor FC and Selangor respectively.
Mohd Ashaari Shamsuddin was on target as Terengganu’s edged Perak 1-0 at the Sultan Ismail Stadium.

Johor FC affected by injury problems
Midfielder Ismail Suboh (knee injury) and left-back Rahman Zabul (slipped disc) have yet to kick a ball this season as Super League strugglers Johor FC continue to be bogged by injuries for Saturday's FA Cup second round match against Selangor at the Pasir Gudang Stadium.
Ismail was signed from Johor for the new season while Rahman was signed from Negri Sembilan last year. The 30-year-old Rahman, however, has been a long-time casualty and has not played competitive football since March last year. He is expected to be out for another three months.
Johor FC's two other left-backs - Shafizan Hashim and Khairi Kiman - are also victims of injuries. Shafizan is out for four months after undergoing ACL surgery while Khairi Kiman suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury in Johor FC's 2-1 defeat to Sabah in a league match in Kota Kinabalu last Saturday and is ruled out for at least three weeks.
The list does not stop there with strikers Shahrizal Saad (ankle) and Zamri Chin (calf) and midfielder Eddy Helmi Abdul Manan (knee) also on the injury list but coach K. Devan believes there is a "50-50" chance of them taking the field against Selangor.
They will be given a late fitness test.
Team manager Wan Nizam Wan Omar said the lengthy injury list has taken its toll on the team as Johor FC slipped to 11th place in the standings after the defeat to Sabah.
"It has been tough going for the team. We have the material to challenge for honours but the injuries have affected Johor FC's campaign in the league," said Wan Nizam.
"However, we have not given up hope of moving up the table but right now, our focus is on the FA Cup. A win over Selangor will put us in the quarter-finals... but we are also looking beyond that."

Liberian striker Francis Doe continues scoring as Terengganu win in Super League
Francis Doe again showed why he is rated so highly by Terengganu as he struck the only goal in a 1-0 win over bottom side Kuala Lumpur yesterday to move his team level with Kelantan at the top of the Super League standings.
The Liberian ran on to a goalkick by Sharbinee Allawee Ramli and squeezed between KL's two centrebacks before firing past goalkeeper Rozaimie Rohim in the 61st minute for his sixth goal of the season at a deserted Hang Jebat Stadium in Malacca.

Six Johor FC President Cup players suspended on suspicion of match-fixing
Six footballers from the Johor FC President’s Cup (Under-20) squad have been suspended with immediate effect on suspicion of match-fixing.
The club’s secretary Tahir Hamdan said the six would remain suspended until police investigations are over.
“They are suspended without salary. We view the matter seriously and will not hesitate to take drastic action against any player found to have flouted the law,” a concerned Tahir said yesterday.
Tahir said elements of match-fixing had surfaced in the President’s Cup competition following Johor FC’s surprise 3-0 win over Perlis at the Pasir Gudang Stadium on Feb 16.
He said Johor FC had earlier lost all three matches after going down to Perak (2-0), Armed Forces (1-0) and Muar MC (1-0). After the unexpected win over Perlis, the club side were beaten 3-1 by Terengganu in their last game.
Johor FC were the first club side to win the President’s Cup in 2009.
Tahir had lodged a police report after the Perlis match on Feb 17. It is learnt that team officials had confiscated the mobile phones of the players after the match and found elements of match-fixing.
Johor Chief Police Officer Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said police have completed their investigations and the case has now been taken over by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Johor MACC chief Simi Abdul Ghani said the players concerned “will be called up soon” to have their statements taken.
On Feb 16, newly-elected Johor FA president Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said two Johor teams in the Premier League competition – Muar MC and Johor Baru City Council – were suspected of being linked to match-fixing.
The other team in the Premier League is the Johor state team.
Early this month, the FA of Malaysia (FAM) suspended 11 players from the President’s Cup (national Under-20 league) and banned a Negri Sembilan coach for life for fixing matches last season.
FAM later revealed that they had more leads into match-fixing with three M-League teams under investigation.

“They are suspended without salary. We view the matter seriously and will not hesitate to take drastic action against any player found to have flouted the law,” a concerned Tahir said yesterday.
Tahir said elements of match-fixing had surfaced in the President’s Cup competition following Johor FC’s surprise 3-0 win over Perlis at the Pasir Gudang Stadium on Feb 16.
He said Johor FC had earlier lost all three matches after going down to Perak (2-0), Armed Forces (1-0) and Muar MC (1-0). After the unexpected win over Perlis, the club side were beaten 3-1 by Terengganu in their last game.
Johor FC were the first club side to win the President’s Cup in 2009.
Tahir had lodged a police report after the Perlis match on Feb 17. It is learnt that team officials had confiscated the mobile phones of the players after the match and found elements of match-fixing.
Johor Chief Police Officer Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said police have completed their investigations and the case has now been taken over by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Johor MACC chief Simi Abdul Ghani said the players concerned “will be called up soon” to have their statements taken.
On Feb 16, newly-elected Johor FA president Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said two Johor teams in the Premier League competition – Muar MC and Johor Baru City Council – were suspected of being linked to match-fixing.
The other team in the Premier League is the Johor state team.
Early this month, the FA of Malaysia (FAM) suspended 11 players from the President’s Cup (national Under-20 league) and banned a Negri Sembilan coach for life for fixing matches last season.
FAM later revealed that they had more leads into match-fixing with three M-League teams under investigation.

Terengganu, Kelantan and Selangor progress to next round in FA Cup
Defending champions Terengganu cruised into the second round of the FA Cup with a convincing 4-0 win over Police while their neighbours Kelantan had to dig deep into their reserves to edge Sarawak 2-1 yesterday.
At the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Baru, substitute Mohd Norfarhan Mohd – who replaced the ineffective Nigerian Onyekachi Nwoha – turned hero for the Red Warriors when he scored the winner in stoppage time.
Mohd Azizan Baba stunned the hosts by firing Sarawak ahead in the 20th minute before Indra Putra Mahayuddin equalised in the 34th minute.
Kelantan coach Peter Butler said he was happy with his side’s performance after being given such a tough fight by Sarawak.
“The team played well but I would be happier if we scored more goals,” said Butler.
“In a knock-out competition, you can’t afford to underestimate your opponent.. they have nothing to lose.”
Kelantan will meet Kuala Lumpur in the second round on March 10. The City side defeated Muar MC 3-0.
Sarawak coach Robert Alberts said his players did not play to their full potential but praised his Cameroon signing Guy Bwele.
Sarawak should have won the match in the dying minutes but their Croatian striker Vedran Muratovic ballooned a sitter which eventually cost his side a famous win.
“I’m proud of my team’s performance despite the players not playing to their true potential. Kelantan have invested the most in players and should beat us,” said Alberts.

Sarawak in confident mood after beating Johor FC
A come-from-behind 2-1 win over Johor FC in a Super League match saw Sarawak give themselves the perfect boost for the tough first-round FA Cup match against Kelantan at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Baru tomorrow.
Sarawak, playing in the Super League after a five-year absence, are feeling the heat but have done well against experienced teams to be placed in mid-table.
Tuesday's win over fancied Johor FC at the Pasir Gudang Stadium had coach Robert Alberts wearing a broad grin.
"It is the perfect boost for the FA Cup match against Kelantan," he said.
The Dutchman added: "Kelantan is the toughest place to play football in Malaysia. But we are going there with confidence.
"We can beat any team on our day ... but we can also lose. That's football."
Sarawak showed character to score through Cameroonian midfielder Guy Bwele, who also wore the skipper's armband for the night, off a free kick in the 34th minute.
Former Johor FC player Azizan Baba headed the winner in the 74th minute from a corner-kick taken by Ashri Chuchu.
Johor FC had earlier taken the lead in the 21st minute through Brazilian signing Arthuro Henrique who curled a left-footed free kick past Sarawak keeper Sani Anuar Kamsani.
The defeat left Johor FC winless at home after four matches.
Sarawak are currently eighth with 11 points after eight matches while Johor FC slipped to ninth with 10 points.
Roberts is also hoping that skipper Hairol Mokhtar could join the team for the Kelantan match.

"I do not understand why we need to divide our strength. We must actually pool our resources to strengthen one team only," he told reporters here Thursday.
Johor currently has four representatives in the M-League with Johor FC playing in the Super League, Johor, Majlis Bandaraya Johor Baharu FC and Majlis Perbandaran Muar playing in the Premier League.
